Mainova AG is operating two CHPPs in Frankfurt, Germany. Due to the German energy turnaround and changing conditions in the market for district heating, part load operation becomes increasingly important. STEAG Energy Services GmbH (SES) has conducted a study to evaluate the status quo and the potential for minimum load reduction by means of one mill operation for both CHPPs. Moreover, SES has planned and accompanied test runs to verify the findings.
