The O&M contract encompassed the provision of personnel, consumables and spare parts, including the supply and repair of hot gas path components and major overhauls of the gas turbines. By improving the maintenance processes, STEAG Energy Services (SES) achieved a sustained reduction in review times based on manufacturer information, while maintaining maintenance at a high level. Deliberate selection of staff, multi-skill qualifications and efficient plant organization were the keys to set the challenging benchmark. Moreover, SES coordinated the outage schedule with power price trends in the market and predicted load dispatching so as to limit the economic impact of scheduled outages.
