For several years, the online systems of STEAG Energy Services (SES) for process quality monitoring and for lifetime monitoring of highly stressed pipes have been in use at the existing units at the lignite site Neurath. The use of the systems for lifetime monitoring was essentially motivated by the planned extension of inspection intervals of the steam boiler installation and the assessment of flexible modes of operation. SES configured and delivered the online systems for the lifetime monitoring of highly stressed thick-walled boiler components and pipes. With these, all pipes and 71 boiler components alltogether are monitored online. The systems SR1 and SR::SPM are applied for the online monitoring. The data management and the visualization of the results are effected by means of SR::x. The online monitoring is an essential component for a comprehensive modern assessment of the condition of thick-walled boiler components and pipes.
